Epilepsy

Epilepsy is a disease of the brain characterised by a tendency to have recurrent seizures. It is usually diagnosed if a person suffers 2 or more unprovoked seizures. There are many different types of seizures and epilepsies and people's experiences differ greatly. Treatment is with anti epileptic drugs but lifestyle factors such as adequate sleep and avoiding excess alcohol also play an important role.
